About
Software Engineer at Nirmata. CNCF Golden Kubestronaut. KubeCon India 2026 speaker. Building AI agents for Kubernetes governance and platform engineering.
Hey there!
I’m Shreyas Mocherla, a Software Engineer at Nirmata, a CNCF Golden Kubestronaut, and a KubeCon + CloudNativeCon India 2026 speaker, building AI agents for Kubernetes governance from Bengaluru, India. I bridge the gap between traditional infrastructure management and modern AI capabilities — MCP servers, conversational CLI agents, and LLM benchmarking frameworks that make policy-as-code feel like a conversation instead of a chore. I hold a BS in Computer Science from Missouri S&T (Dec 2025).
What I’m Working On
At Nirmata, I’m a core contributor to private and open-source LLM infrastructure, including the AI Platform Engineering Assistant (launched at KubeCon North America 2025):
- Kyverno MCP Server - Built and maintain the open-source MCP server (Go) that lets AI assistants like Claude and Cursor generate, validate, and troubleshoot Kyverno policies across multi-cluster K8s environments
- NCTL AI Agent - Turned policy authoring from hand-written YAML into a conversation: a CLI agent that transforms natural language into policy-as-code, with LLM-driven Chainsaw test generation for end-to-end validation
- Multi-agent orchestration systems - Cut policy workflow turnaround from hours to minutes by orchestrating specialized agents for authoring, testing, and remediation
- OPA Gatekeeper migration - First place, internal hackathon: an agent skill that migrates Gatekeeper policies to Kyverno’s new ValidatingPolicy type automatically
Where I’ve Been
- Nirmata (2025-present) - Joined as a Software Engineer Intern bringing generative AI to Kyverno; now full-time building the AI Platform Engineering Assistant
- NVIDIA (2022-2026) - University Ambassador and Deep Learning Institute Certified Instructor, running hands-on workshops on neural networks, CNNs, and transfer learning
- InfraCloud Technologies (2024) - Built InSightful, a RAG-enabled ReAct agent for tech communities, published on the CNCF blog
- Missouri S&T - Founded the ACM AI Special Interest Group and served as its President; chaired the ACM Data committee
